Tip #9 How to Cut Your Power Bill

Tip#9 – Keep The Curtains Drawn

Another DUH moment but think about it; windows and doors are holes that have been cut into the most energy-efficient building materials that our homes are made of, wood, sidings, shingles and insulation. Those holes are filled in with the least energy efficient material; GLASS which is actually an excellent transmitter of HEAT.

While you want to let the light in on a cold winter morning,  it is the last thing you want on a cool summer morning when your house is at its coolest. Keep those drapes drawn!
