Bank of America Customer Service

Assuming this would be no more than a cathartic act on my part, I published the post and moved on with my life; resolute that I would not be able to fight city hall. It was a scant week later, while on vacation that I received a phone call from an unknown caller from the 805 area code. The 805 area code is assigned to phone numbers in Southern California. Like most people I know who are in sales, and have had even the least amount of success in their careers, I find the allure of the unknown caller ID simply too irresistible not to answer. In my mind, I’m eagerly anticipating the “new business” opportunity the call could bring.  I answered the phone in my usual manner, “This is Ricardo”. The calling party responded “Is this Ricardo Cobos, the Raleigh Mortgage Guy?”, “yes” I replied. “Is this the same Ricardo Cobos who wrote the blog post “Bank of America Accepted Short Sale – but they say you still owe ?”. Again I replied, “Yes”.

The pleasant sounding woman on the other end of the phone call proceeded to identify herself as a member of Bank Of America. I knew in a flash that she was not a collector because a.) She spoke English without a foreign accent, and b.) She actually listened when spoken to. She told me that she had come across my blog post, and because I had included enough information in my post, she was able to locate my account and resolve the problem. She conceded that the error was Bank of Americas and apologized to me for any trouble or inconvenience that it may have caused me.  I promised her that I would write a follow up post.  I feel bad that it has taken me so long to do so, but better late than never right?
