Raleigh among the Hottest Real Estate Markets in the US
the 4 hottest housing markets on the east coast

For those of us who call Raleigh, Cary and the surrounding communities called the Triangle home we have become  desensitized to the latest list that we find our hometown on which is why I try to avoid sharing the list-du-jour but this one was noteworthy for several reasons.

  1. The source of the data and the analysis is from a very credible source. Unlike many of the other lists, Proteck Valuation Services is a company who only appraises real estate and their footprint is national.
  2. The data covered a period from 1968 – 2015 and focuses primarily on inventory.
  3. The list focuses primarily on the Months of Remaining Inventory which essentially compares the number of housing units sold to the number of units available for sale.
  4. Of the top 29 housing markets in the country, only 4 were found in East coast states and 3 of those were in North Carolina with Raleigh Durham/Chapel-Hill and Charlotte making the list.
