Long before he would be arrested and jailed in Birmingham or his famous march on Washington where he delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech, Dr. King fought racial injustice in 1955 by boycotting the Montgomery Alabama bus system. Although Rosa Parks was not the first to be arrested for violating Jim Crow laws, as the secretary of the local NAACP chapter, her case was the first to garner national attention.
